Crabeater Seal

Our zodiac driver for the ride back to the ship had spotted a seal on an iceberg, and took a couple of minutes' detour to buzz by.

Crabeater seals do not eat crabs. The name is a bastardization of the original German name - krill (krebs) eater.

Crabeater seals have adorable puppy faces.

That's me. I'm adorbs.

    1. Likely from an encounter from a Leopard Seal. The leopard seals prey on them, but crabeater seals are scrappy
